A very rare pentassarion of Philip I from Eumeneia
Lot 998
PHRYGIA. Eumeneia. Philip I. Pentassarion (Orichalcum, 37 mm, 17.49 g, 6 h), Phla. Philikos, archiereus. •AYT•K•IOYΛ•ΦIΛIΠΠOC•AVΓ• Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right, seen from behind. Rev. ЄΠΙ ΦΛΑ ΦΙΛΙΚΟΥ•ΑΡΧΙЄ / ЄΥΜЄΝЄΩΝ ΑΧΑΙΩΝ Statue of Tyche standing front, head to left, holding rudder in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left, within tetrastyle temple. BMC 61 (same dies). RPC VIII online ID 20605. Very rare. Very fine.

It is worth noting that this coin was struck from the same obverse die as the wonderful Noah issue from Apameia sold in Leu 7, Part I, 24 October 2020, 1457 for 240,000 CHF. Alas, the reverse on this particular coin is not nearly as exciting, but the die-sharing between Eumeneia and Apameia is nonetheless of considerable numismatic interest
